Missions Here...and There

Did you know?...thanks to your faithful giving to Shelter Cove's Missions Fund we are currently supporting eleven missionaries and mission organizations worldwide on a regular monthly basis.

Shelter Cove is supporting a wide range of missionaries and missions organizations both "here and there." You can be involved in this ongoing support process: Pray for our missionaries- pray for their ministries, their health and their families. Pray for strength and safety. Give generously to support these missionaries. Without the support of others, these servants would be unable to continue in the ministries to which God has called them.

Our Missionaries

David Amerine The Vine House David and the Vine House staff minister to the drug addicts, alcoholics, prostitutes, and the homeless of our community in the heart of west Modesto with a holistic approach—seeing them develop into stable, drug-free productive members of the Modesto community.

Chad and Lisa Blowers Teaching English in China This couple lives in China and have partnered with a Christian organization that has been allowed to teach English to university students.

David Brickner Jews for Jesus David Brickner leads the best known Jewish Evangelism agency in the world, Jews for Jesus. Jews for Jesus is known for its forthright evangelistic approach in major Jewish population centers around the world.

Jens and Annie Erickson Network of International Christian Schools The Mission of NICS is to establish a world wide network of International Christian educators, instilling in each student a Biblical world-view in an environment of academic excellence and respect for people of all cultures and religions. Jens teaches at NIC’s school in Lima, Peru.

Dr. Manny Fernandez World Link Ministries World Link Ministries is dedicated to training and deploying national leaders, promoting discipleship and evangelizing un-churched people in Southern and Eastern Europe, North Africa and Cuba. In addition, World Link provides a venue for churches in the United States to send short-term missions teams to Spain, Italy, and various other locations for Evangelistic Campaigns.

Blake and Esther Gibbs Agape Children's Ministry Based in Kenya, Agape Children’s Ministry brings hope to children at risk through demonstrating God’s love in a holistic way by meeting Physical, emotional, and above all, spiritual needs.

Pastor Wilson and Mary Koppula India Friendship Center Pastor Wilson builds friendships and ministers to Sikhs. Hindus and other people of Indian origin. In addition to leading his church, he started classes, USA Citizenship test coaching, spiritual counseling and evangelistic Bible Studies. Several Sikhs have come to understand the true plan of salvation through this outreach.

Matt and Tony Moffett Evangelism Explosion International, West Africa, and African Bible College Evangelism Explosion is a worldwide ministry which trains people how to share their faith in Christ and also trains those they win to the Lord to share their newfound faith. In Africa, EE is currently being used by 375 people groups in thirty three languages.

Tom and Marg Tucker Agape Children's Ministry Tom and Marg are Project Directors for Agape's Vocational Training Center, "The Farm," which trains young men in various trades in order to gain employment.

Chris Whitler Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Full-time YWAM workers and volunteers make friends in their local community and serve Jesus, the poor, the young and churches. Understanding that God’s Kingdom is about right relationships, they seek to make relationship the focal point of all we do.

• ENGAGE TEAM: Assist the Engage Team Leader in contacting and praying for missionaries while they are on the field through a variety of ways including events that honor our missionaries.
• FUNDRAISING TEAM: Assist the Fundraising Team Leader in developing and implementing creative forms of fundraising to financially support missions.
• FURLOUGH TEAM: Assist the Furlough Team Leader In welcoming our missionaries while they are home from the field, and if needed when they depart. Some of the ways to help are: Help with a luncheon, a dessert social, find housing etc.
• LOCAL OUTREACH TEAM: Assist the Local Outreach Team Leader in working with ministry leaders and community para-church ministries, or local Shelter Cove community events.
• MARKETING TEAM: Assist the Marketing Team Leader in promoting Missions awareness through creative ways of developing communication and bringing information to our church and community.
• MEDIA TEAM: Assist the Media Team Leader in promoting awareness of missions to our church and community and assist volunteers who are experienced with multimedia forms of communications.
• PRAYER TEAM: Assist the Prayer Team Leader in praying daily for our missionaries and when special needs arise.
• SHORT-TERM TEAM: Assist the Short-Term Team Leader in participating and helping to prepare various short-term mission trips, and/or going on a short-term mission.
